This would be a question directed to all the Vietnam Vets. I've been looking for a website which sells 1st Field Force T-Shirts. I've only found one site that does and I can't ever get through to them one the telephone. Does anyone out there know of source where I can purchase any 1st Field Force T Shirts? Looking forward to the Reunion in the next couple of weeks. See you all at Sill.

I served in B Btry 3/17th from 1989-1991 in Ansbach, Germany. My unit went to the Persian Gulf for six months during the conflict and we supported the 2nd ACR and 1st ID with direct Artillery support. Good to see the website up and running.

I want to correct myself. LZ Action was their but was rebuilt in 68. LZ Shuller was going to be a firebase for A 3/6th we got alot of secondary explosions. So we moved Shuller 5k closer to Mang Yang Pass. As it turned out we were in the old French Battlefield. I have a photograph 8x10 of a picture taken of D Battery on Jan1,68 in Happy Valley. I can send to someone for the reunion. Some of the guys in the picture were killed with C Battery north of Quin Noin in April 1968 when overrun. I need to know where the reunion is in June?

Departed Ft. Sill by rejuvenated troop train, July 1965. Sailed to VN on USS Gorden. Served as Bn S2 and A (Action) Battery Commander. PFC Action (the billy goat mascot) received an Article 15 from me for urinating on my boot during a battery inspection. Glad to see the 17th Alum Association is up and running. Look forward to seeing fellow Persuaders at the reunion.

First of all, I'd like to thank my "big brothers " who served with the 17th FA so gallantly in the past. I began my career in 1987 as a reservist in A-BTRY 4/17th FA in my hometown of Durham, NC. The next year I enlisted RA and was sent to Herzo Artillery Base, Germany and assigned to C-BTRY 3/37th FA. In 1989 we were re-flagged as 5/17th. Both units were 8 inch and I was M-548 driver in both. The 4/17th and 5/17th hold fond memories for me and I would like to here from anyone who served with me during that time.

Good web site. I was a CH-47 Pilot in 1969-Freight Train. We worked for you a lot out of Ban Me Thuot, hauling loads to Duc Lap, Bu Prang, FB Kate & I can't remember the other fire base names around Bu Prang (Annie? & others) I was one of the pilots who hauled the last load into FB Kate. A couple days later I hauled the last 55 guys out of Annie (I think that was the name). I was scared to death in the air--couldn't imagine being on the ground through all that mess.

I'm really looking forward to making this trip back to Ft Sill. A place I haven't been back to since 1969. Maybe now in Piece Time I'll be able to make more sense out of why I lost so many Buttons off the fronts of my shirts from low crawling, concave holes in the dirt from where I did pushups, and I can't forget the time I got busted while standing formation in Class A's in the Summertime and the Glowcoat Polish started melting on my Jump Boots. What a grand time it was in the Army back in those days before going to Nam. But most of all, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. I'll be pulling into Lawton Monday the 18th. I truly feel honered to be apart of the 2/17th.

Thanks to all who attended the 17th Artillery Regiment Association Reunion. It was a great success. I would like to thank LTC Kenneth Lull and his lovely wife for everything. His staff was superb in setting up a tour of his battalion equipment. Kenneth, we thank you for your support and the wonderful praise that you gave our group. You have made yourself many new friends in the association. The hospitality was outstanding. Please convey our sincere thanks to your entire staff and especially the BC and XO of B Btry. We love what you are doing and hope to see you all at our next reunion (Fort Carson next year). There will be a news letter out in about 3-4 weeks. All veterans who attended are encouraged to send their write ups to me. Please do so in the next week to 10 days.

Thanks, Norman Richard Jones

I would like to take only a moment to thank Richard Jones and all who made this fantastic event possible. Many many thanks to LTC Lull and BC & XO and all the men from B Btry. I for one am very proud of to have been in the presense of such a fine group of men within the 1/17th Arty. The Reunion for me was another high point in my life. Reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones along with all the stories and experiences from our past, what more can an old C Btry 2/17th Vet ask for. Thanks to all of you.

I would like to Thank (Norm)Richard Jones for all the work he has done to bring the 17th Artillery Regiment Association as far as we have in such a short time. This years Reunion was the best yet. It's really great to see someone you haven't seen in over 30 years and bring each other up to date. Next year, Colorado Springs, Colorado in August. Let's try for 100 Vet's!!! See you in Colorado.
